Reflection 1 - BYU Mission and AIMS: This reflection invites you to think about how your experiences and goals at BYU connect in meaningful ways. Your submission should clearly label each section (with headings or numbers) and be at least 500 words or two pages double-spaced.
- Mission & Aims: Identify the three most important things you’ve learned about the mission and aims of BYU. Share them in a short paragraph or bulleted list.
- Why You Came to BYU: Reflect on the reasons you chose to come to BYU (i.e. people, events, or influences that shaped your decision). Write about half to one page explaining these thoughts.
- Connections: Review your first two responses. How do they relate? Why do those mission and aims stand out to you? How does your purpose for being at BYU connect to them? Write a paragraph or two.
- Your Path Forward: Consider the kind of student you want to be and how the mission/aims and your reasons for being here can guide you. Identify two steps you can take now to become that kind of student and explain how each step aligns with BYU’s mission and your goals.
